San Jerónimo is located 45 kilometers northeast of San Isidro de El General in the district of San Pedro in the southern pacific zone of Costa Rica. There are various ways to get here, and even without a car you can access this beautiful mountain town!
Getting Here:
Public Transport: San Jerónimo is accessible by bus from the nearby town of San Isidro de General. Buses leave from the the central market daily at 11:30am and 4:00pm. The bus is located in the northeast corner of the market. It is red, white, and blue and should display Zapotal as the location. The ride lasts about a hour and fifteen minutes and costs ¢1,850. San Jerónimo is the last stop on the bus line.

-From San Isidro de General: drive 26km (about 30 min) south on the Inter-American highway. Turn left at the entrance for Union-Fatima-Zapotal, where you will see a sign for “Cataratas Kilo”. San Jerónimo is the last town on that road, 12km (around 20 minutes) further. The last 6km of this road are a well kept gravel road.
– From Buenos Aires: drive 37km (35 minutes) north on the Inter-American highway. Turn right at the entrance for Union-Fatima-Zapotal, where you will see a sign for “Cataratas Kilo”. San Jerónimo is the last town on that road, 12km (around 20 minutes) further. The last 6km of this road are a well kept gravel road.
